2014 AUCKLAND MINI NATIONALS IMPORTANT INFORMATION
PLEASE READ BEFORE REGISTERING
This year in addition to the Mothers Show and Shine Competition we have added the Minibitz Survivor Competition and the Park and Display Show. In the Mothers Show and Shine Competition we have adjusted the categories, removing modified and customized, to make it clearer which category you should enter. We want the judges to take their time in scoring the cars on presentation, not originality. Please note there is no Supreme / Concours category this year. There will be a Supreme Award : the top cars from each category will be further judged to determine the winner of the Mothers Show and Shine Supreme Award.
We would like to draw your attention to the following points:
We would like to draw your attention to the following points:
- You do not need to be a member of a Mini Club to enter the 2014 Auckland Mini Nationals or Mothers Show and Shine Competition.
- The ELWA NZ Speed Events are run under a permit issued by Motorsport NZ that requires each participant to be a member of a MSNZ-affiliated Car Club.
- The option to become a member of a MSNZ-affiliated Car Club will be available on the day of the ELWA NZ Speed Events.
- Cars participating in the Autocross must be up to WOF standard to pass scrutineering but do not need to have a current registration or WOF.
- The Mothers Show and Shine Competition entries will be judged solely on their presentation. The cleanest, shiniest, best presented cars will win, regardless of their originality or any modifications.
- The Minibitz Survivor Competition entries will be judged on their originality. This competition is for Minis that were manufactured before 1983. They must be unrestored, unmodified, well presented in original condition, displaying the patina of their age & nostalgic qualities. In short, they are time capsules; original blemished paint, minor dents, lived-in upholstery and all. Any records of the Mini’s history will add to the points awarded. Survivor Minis do not need to have a current WOF, but must have current registration or registration on hold.
- The Park and Display Show entries will not be judged. Each entry will receive points for their club and has the chance to win a spot prize.
- The Pak ‘n Save Sylvia Park Navigational Trial will explore various points of interest around Auckland. All drivers must have a current drivers licence, and all participating cars must have a current registration and WOF on display.
- Sunday Morning Auckland Tour event is planned for those who do not wish to compete in the ELWA NZ Speed Events. This will be a ‘follow-the-leader’ event and will visit the monthly “Caffeine & Classics” informal gathering in Takapuna, organized by Classic Cars magazine. This will be a “roll up” event (no registration is required) that starts and ends at Mt Smart Stadium.
- If you own more than one Mini/MINI then we encourage you to enter all your Minis/MINIS. The principal car entry fee is $80 and additional entries cost $25 per car. You can enter one car in the Mothers Show and Shine Competition and enter an additional car in all events. You can share an additional car in the ELWA NZ Speed Events with another competitor who has entered their own principal car.
- The 2014 Auckland Mini Nationals Overall Winner will be the participant who accumulates the most points in all events competing in their principal car.
- Some of the text boxes in the registration form have “pop-up” information, intended as a guide to help you fill in the form correctly.
- Adding information for additional cars can be entered after submission of the registration form
- Please tick only 1 of the following 3 boxes: Survivor Class, Park and Display or Show 'n Shine.
