| Once again, the club had an excellent turnout for the 2007 Galaxy of Cars Show at MOTAT, which also doubles as the annual Show 'n Shine competition.
The cars were arranged in a 'fan' formation which matched our club tent design, 2 rows deep with quite a few different and contrasting colours. This seemed to be different from other club stands who seemed to have similar colours on their displays.
It was satisfying seeing the amount of effort members had put in to present their cars in the best possible condition - the judges work would not be easy!

The variety of cars presented at this show always makes it an excellent day and this year did not disappoint. As a bonus, quite a few cars and trucks from MOTAT's own collection were driven in and displayed. One of the highlights was the Cooper Climax Formula 1 car of Bruce McLaren. As with all things auto, it is markedly different from today's models. Interesting to note that it's fastest lap time around Pukekohe was around 1m 30s - admittedly it probably used the long track which is not in existance any more. Despite this it is more than likely to be slower than today's V8 Supercars!
The main prizegiving was scheduled for 2:30pm, but our judges announced the Show 'n Shine results at 1:00pm. The winners were:-

| After 4 years of coming very close to the main prize, this year we hit the big one and won 1st place in the Club competition. There was more to come as Kevin Patrick's 1970 MkII Cooper S won the title of 'Best Presented Car' at the show. A clean sweep of the awards and thanks must go to the team who choreographed the display.
Now, on to Ellerslie.......
